As surfing gains tremendous momentum as a popular pastime, more people are discovering surfing to be a favored recreation. The Annual Soul Surf Classic contest at Leo Carillo State Beach is a landmark event symbolizing change for the black surfing community. For one day in May a tiny stretch of Malibu, CA is awash with sparkle and verve as an august group of the most culturally diverse surfers converge to compete for the ultimate honor. Sponsored in part by the Black Surfing Association and Fysh Out of H2o Productions, the Annual Soul Surf Classic attracts a towering crowd of spectators and is an exhilarating event not to be missed.
